Seeing Sound took place on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th November 2013.
Full information on the event is now available here on the Seeing Sound site. You can find information on the papers that were presented, the two performances, and the fixed media screenings that were featured across the two days.
As well as the our headline performance on Saturday night, the event featured a talk by Larry Cuba on his pioneering work in computer animation. Another highlight was an extensive programme of works by James and John Whitney.
In addition, the event featured 24 papers covering an amazingly diverse range of theory, history and practice, two curated fixed media programmes, and many more performance works. We were happy to attract an international crowd, with delegates coming from Spain, Ireland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, the US, Canada, Japan, Venezuela, Brazil and Australia. A selection of photos from the event is now online here, and many of the fixed media works shown can be found here, with more video documentation to follow.
